Role
Project Lead · UX

Eurostar wanted to be more than just the way you get to your destination, helping travellers discover accommodation, cultural attractions, and events in their destination city. In four weeks, I took the platform from wireframe sketches to a fully interactive coded prototype presented to the Eurostar board to secure funding.

Eurostar Discover — destination feed with map
The problem

Eurostar had partnered with influencers to surface destination content (accommodation, culture, events) but had no platform to bring this to customers. The content existed; the discovery experience didn't.

The impact

The interactive prototype secured funding from the Eurostar board at the end of week four, taking Discover into full development.

The brief

Beyond
the journey.

Eurostar had partnered with social influencers to surface destination content (accommodation, culture, local events) but had no platform to bring this to customers. The content existed; the discovery experience didn't.

My brief was to design that platform from scratch and build it to a sufficient level of fidelity to be presented to the Eurostar board. The project had a four-week runway. I led UX and project management across a team of a project manager, visual designer, and front-end developer at Nice Agency.

The constraint of four weeks shaped every decision: prioritise signal over noise, validate early with wireframes, and get to interactive prototype as fast as possible. The board presentation was the deliverable. Everything else was in service of that.

Process

Fast by
design.

With four weeks to a board presentation, every design decision had to be justified on speed and impact. Wireframes went straight to interactive, with no intermediate fidelity step. Testing happened on sketches, not polished screens. The team was small enough to move without process friction; the brief was tight enough to move without scope creep.

Outcomes

Board-ready
in four weeks.

The interactive coded prototype was presented to the Eurostar board at the end of week four and successfully secured funding to take Discover into full development.

Working at this pace required constant prioritisation: cutting scope, making fast decisions on unknowns, and keeping the team focused on what mattered for the presentation. That discipline was as much the output as the prototype itself.
